Nov. 11 – Camano Chili Chowder Cookoff (3-7 PM)
Come out and celebrate the end of election advertising season! We can all breathe a sigh of relief as the commercial airwaves purge the political polemics, and return to a comforting mix of prescription drug and automobile ads. So, come on, pop a Cialis, hop into your Hybrid Hummer and vote with your ears for some of the most toothsome original tuneage around. There’s a groundswell of great music at Brindles again this week on Friday, and the very next afternoon we’ll provide some easily-digested tunes at the 11th annual Camano Island Chili & Chowder Cook-off at the Camano Island Community and Senior Center. Join Steve Harris, Mark Dodge, Wende Hilyard, and Thomas Kemper at either (or both) events, and join the local grassroots campaign to enjoy great local live music! Brindles – Admission is free, and wine, beer, and food are available. Camano Commons, 848 North Sunrise Boulevard, (Terry’s Corner) on Camano Island. The Chili & Chowder Cook-Off at Camano Island Community and Senior Center – Be a judge of the best chili and chowder on Camano Island, and enter to win prizes in the raffle. Admission is $10, which buys you 10 tastes (cups) of chili and/or chowder (and some fine musical entertainment). Sponsored by the Camano Island Chamber of Commerce http://www.camanoisland.org/ The Center is located at 606 Arrowhead Road, Camano Island, WA.
